Repaving of NW 85th Street – Expect Traffic Disruption

by Olivier on October 10, 2011

We have been informed by Seattle’s DOT that the year-long repaving project of NW 85th street is about to start.
This is both a blessing and a curse. The NW 85th street is definitely in need of some TLC but it also means that for the best of a year, traffic revisions and some delays are to be expected in the neighborhood.
The first phase of the project is slated to start on the week of October 17, 2011 and is the one mostly affecting us. During that phase of the project, NW 85th street will be closed to traffic going eastbound between 8th Ave NW and 15th Ave NW. Eastbound traffic will be redirected to NW 80th street.

There will also be some week-end closures of the intersections at 8th Ave NW., Greenwood Ave N. and Aurora Ave N.
I am dedicating a page of this web site to update you about the construction’s progress and the best routes to get to the office.

In the meantime, avoid NW 85th if you can (eastbound or westbound), use NW 80th street instead and access my office from 14th Ave NW (park in the back of the building). and please allow some additional time to get to your appointment.
