Music: Rolf Lislevand

Music is always a big part of my sessions. Even though my practice leans more towards a medical approach to massage, I like to have music in the background during each treatment. It helps drown out some of the ambiant noises and sometime gives my clients something to anchor their mind to and relax.

I am often asked how I select the music for a session. The answer is simple, I use music that I like. If you browse catalogs for what typically is called massage music, you get a plethora of flutes and whale songs punctuated by waves and wind chimes. I am not a particular fan of that style of musak. So I only use it when requested. I always encourage people to bring music they like for their session. I love discovering new sounds.

Of late, I have been playing a lot of music by Rolf Lislevand, a Norwegian performer of Early Music. Many of you have commented about his music and asked me what was playing. I have been playing two albums:
Diminutio and Nuove musiche

Enjoy!
